Fun in the Sun, Exploring & Making Pizza!

After being cooped up for a few days with colds, we were very happy to get out & about last week!  The weather has been fantastic and we're trying to do as much as possible outside while it's so beautiful out.  We went to the Flight Deck Cafe and watched airplanes take off while eating a yummy breakfast - I don't know why we have never gone there before, it is close by and she loved it!  We also had a great time at the Arizona Science Center with some friends and had a nice lunch at TGI Friday's Front Row Grille at Chase Stadium (that was really cool).  This week we've had a couple fun playdates with friends enjoying some sprinkler fun!  And we went on a tour of Peter Piper Pizza with my preschool co-op group - it was such a fun morning that Hannah napped for 3 hours (I cannot think of the last time she ever did that!).  It was great seeing the behind the scenes in the kitchen, the kiddos got to make their own pizzas and we had the whole place to ourselves for 2 hours - definitely something we'll have to do again!

Here's some pics of our recent fun -

Hillabolt Happenings: 4/1 - 4/15/13

Ryan was away for work the first week of April, but Hannah & I kept busy with some fun playdates with friends, we went to the zoo and the park a couple times.  The weather is phenomenal, so we are trying to take advantage of it before we are stuck inside the A/C for the summer. =)  We celebrated my mom's birthday by going out to lunch and then while Papa watched Hannah, my mom & I got to get pampered at the nail salon!

Ryan was thankfully home the 2nd week of April (the first time in 5 weeks he'd been home during the week), so that was a nice change to have him home! We went swimming at my parents pool - Hannah LOVED swimming & diving for rings.  I can't wait to practice all that she's been learning with her swim lessons now that the pool is warmed up!

Hannah & I went to an Earth Day Celebration which was fun - they had face painting and a petting zoo (she got to pet some armadillo's, an alpaca, a lizard, some bunnies, chickens and a chinchilla)!

Here's some pics from our week!

2013....you sure a FLYING by!

Once again I would like to think that I'm going to keep up with our blog, so we will see how it goes!  I can't believe we are already into the middle of April - where is this year going?!?  2013 has been pretty great so far - here's a recap of some things that have happened....

  • In January I threw a surprise graduation party for Ryan - it was a great time!  I am so proud of him for finishing up his bachelor's degree, despite the obstacles that he's had.  Going to school while working full time and still having time for your family is a tough thing to do!

  • Ryan also received a great job offer from Siemens Medical as a System Analyst that he started in February.  It is quite intense training that has him traveling a lot, so that's been an adjustment, but he loves the company and I think it will be a good career for him!

(CONGRATS DADDY!)
  • At the end of January we took advantage of Ryan having time off before he started his new job and we went up to Napa to visit family & friends.  It was wonderful seeing everyone and getting to meet my new little cousin Landon for the first time (such a cutie!).  We were lucky enough to be there for the big McDaniel Superbowl Bash, which was a great time!

  • In February we went up to Pinetop for our annual cabin getaway with some great friends!  We rented a 7-bedroom cabin and enjoyed playing in the snow!

  • We also enjoyed the Peach Blossom Celebration at Schnepf Farms, which is becoming a fun annual tradition.  We had a fun morning playing on the playground, the petting zoo and going on the train ride, followed by a yummy lunch at the Olive Mill.  Such a fun day!

  • In March Ryan was traveling every week for work, but home for the weekends.  It thankfully went by pretty fast and we were able to keep busy while he was away.  Hannah was Star of the Week at preschool and we took this pic for her poster.  We had her parent-teacher conference and they said that she is doing wonderful.  We are very proud of our little girl - I can't believe that she is almost done with her first year of preschool!

  • Here's a few pics of us enjoying the weather as it has been warming up - love this time of year!

  • One of the weekends that Ryan was home we went to the Roots n Boots Festival, which was a fun little morning.  We met up with a couple of Hannah's buddies and enjoyed some rides, a petting zoo, pony ride and a little bit of a rodeo.

  • Ryan's sister Keri and her family, along with his cousin Becky and her family, all came out to visit for a few days.  It's been way too long since we've seen them and Hannah had a great time with her cousins!

We had a great time celebrating Easter this year!  Hannah finally got over her fear of holiday characters and actually hugged & danced with the Easter Bunny this year. =)  She had a blast hunting easter eggs with friends - this is definitely a fun age!

Easter Egg Hunt with my Moms Group (can't believe how fast these kiddos are growing!)

Well that is the recap of January through March, I really hope to stay on top of this from now on, because it's nice to share our lives with our friends and family that are far away (and it's nice to have something to look back on).  Hope the spring is treating you all well!
